Abstract: Poland was one of the ten countries that joined the European Union (EU) on May 1st 2004. As the largest of the new members, with a rapidly developing economy, Poland is expected to leverage its membership to develop its economy and reduce unemployment. Critics have cautioned that the European Union's stringent fiscal policy requirements might curtail Poland's growth. |
